The board will play its role by influencing and shaping employment and skills provision in Lincolnshire and Rutland.   Some of the ways it will do that include:

Giving input to the successors of the Learning and Skills Council, such as National Apprenticeship Service (Apprenticeships), Young Persons’ Learning Agency (Further Education) Skills Funding Agency

Providing feedback to Lincolnshire / Rutland County Council-led programmes on locally-developed proposals for funding such as European Social Funding (ESF) and the commissioning processes for Further Education provision

Improving the responsiveness and performance of provision for those that are unemployed through providing an employer voice to Jobcentreplus

Providing support and advice to other local area employment and skills–based groups such as those led by District Councils or groups such as the Lincolnshire Voluntary Sector Learning and Skills Consortium

Supporting the development of an integrated, accessible and cohesive employment and skills offer for Lincolnshire and Rutland employers

Championing our local best practice initiatives

Representing employer views as part of the County Councils’ Statutory Economic Assessment
