Group Finance Director, Lindum Group

Herman Kok is the Chairman of the Lincolnshire & Rutland Employment and Skills Board.

Born and educated in Holland, Herman moved to live and work in the UK in 1976.  He joined Lindum Group Ltd in 1985.  

Lindum Group Ltd is a unique construction group, owned by its employees, disciplines include Construction, Housing, Roofing, Plant Hire, Joinery, Interior Design, Architectural Design and Process Design; and also provides Venture Capital and Management Services.  The Group has almost 500 employees and was five times listed in best company to work for in the UK - Sunday Times Best Companies Awards.  

Herman is currently Group Finance Director and Company Secretary, in charge of Accounting, Treasury & Finance, Administration and HR; and deals with Strategic Planning for the Group; Marketing; Acquisitions; Venture Management; Development Deals/Special Projects.  

His particular interest is in public and private sector partnerships and economic development issues. He is committed to bringing his commercial and business experience to benefit both the local and regional communities.

Herman is a Director of Investors in Lincoln and an ex President of the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce. He currently Chairs the Local Strategic Plan for North Kesteven District Council; the Wolds College and the Lincolnshire & Rutland Employment and Skills Board.

He has very significant experience in a range of business sectors where he has held a number of directorships and is particularly involved in encouraging and providing support for new, innovative business ventures including – the creation of managed workspace for fledgling companies.

He has been a Governor at a local secondary school and FE College, chaired the Lincoln Learn Direct Hub and the Lincolnshire Academy Ltd and is currently Chairman of Lincoln Group Training Association - a construction training organisation supported by CITB.

Herman is particularly passionate about education and is committed to promoting ways in which businesses, and particularly the Lindum Group, can engage with young people and education providers to help and support quality learning and progression into work.
