Collaborative Projects Officer, Siemens Industrial Turbomachinery Ltd

Angela has been employed at Siemens Industrial Turbomachinery Ltd (SITL) since 1986.  The majority of her career has been spent in the Company’s training department, firstly as a Training Assistant providing administrative support for a 26 person department, followed by Assistant Training Officer where she was responsible for the coordination of all training courses across the Company.

Whilst working in the training department Angela became interested in work experience and schools programme; subsequently moving into the role of Schools Liaison Officer.  As Angela assumed more responsibilities, her work in this role developed into her current position as Collaborative Projects Officer, the primary responsibility of which is to develop links in the community, specifically with educational institutions, to raise the profile of engineering in the Lincoln area.  In 2004 Angela also undertook the additional task of graduate recruitment and managing Siemens’ graduate and undergraduate training programme.

Over the last few years Angela’s role has had a high profile in the public arena.  She has delivered speeches on SITL’s education programme to the House of Commons and attended numerous functions as speaker, promoting its graduate recruitment and apprenticeship programmes.

Angela is passionate about her role as Collaborative Projects Officer and through it, her ability to act as a support mechanism for local schools whilst raising the profile of engineering.  She feels she is able to suggest and create opportunities that both benefit students and the business, thereby making a difference to both parties.

Angela is a member of the Institute for Learning and the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.
